Vale Matters Talks To Local
Evesham Entrepreneurs
In our latest Podcast we talk to Tom Tarver and Sarah Sallis, local entrepreneurs both based in Evesham.
Tom is the owner of Johnsons Estate Agents, who've recently relocated to the top of the high street in Evesham next to the Post Office.
In our podcast, Tom shares with us how he went from 'Saturday boy' at the estate agents to the owner and he discusses what it's like to be an entrepreneur based in Evesham.
We also talk with Sarah Sallis, owner of The Accountancy Office and we learn how she 'fell' into her career as an accountant.
Tom and Sarah also share their experiences as business owners, offer tips and advice for wannabe entrepreneurs and provide insights on what it's like to balance family life and running a business.

Hot Tubs Rock
Business member spotlight
Introducing Hot Tubs Rock, one of the newest members of Evesham Noticeboard who have recently 'made a splash' since opening a new showroom at Blackminster Business Park.
The business is run by owners Angharrad and Joe, who originally started the company in 2015 offering inflatable hot tub hire before adding solid hot tubs, swim spas and saunas in 2019.
In 2020, they opened their first showroom in the Forest of Dean, adding indoor and outdoor furniture to complement their range.
Earlier this year, they had the opportunity to take on new premises here in Evesham after the former tenants (in the same industry) decided to retire. The location seemed a great fit for the brand so Angharrad and Joe went ahead and opened a new showroom here.
Since opening, the team have been warmly welcomed and received a lot of support from the community. Customers of the former business located there have now become customers of Hot Tubs Rock purchasing pool and cleaning supplies from them and this along with new hot tub sales has seen them go from strength to strength.
Hot Tubs Rock’s mission is to bring ‘hot tub happiness’ to Evesham and the Vale and they certainly seem to be doing that!
Want to relax in style this summer? Then you should consider hiring or buying a hot tub, swim spa or sauna from Hot Tubs Rock.
Fancy winning a hot tub for a week? Thanks to Hot Tubs Rock you can.
Vale Wildlife
Charity member spotlight
One of the Charities we support at Evesham Noticeboard is Vale Wildlife Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre.
The charity was founded in 1984 in Cropthorne, before moving to its current home in Beckford in 1992. The charity helps wildlife which have been injured by snares, pet attacks, lost habitat and road traffic accidents.
Vale Wildlife provides medical treatment and rehabilitation in order to return the animals to their natural habitat but this comes with a cost.
In the last year, the charity has helped over 7500 animals and the cost of living crisis has seen an effect on donations. If you can help, please consider donating through the link below.

Introducing Evesham's New Mayor
Alan Booth has been elected to be the Mayor of Evesham for the next civic year. He was appointed on 15th May after the chains of office were passed over from former mayor Mark Goodge.
Alan paid tribute to Mark in his speech and went on to say, " Thank you all who joined me at my inauguration as mayor of this beautiful Town. It is a great honour and gives me a feeling of humbleness to realise that so many people have enough faith in me to take on this office... I hope that in the next 12 months we, the council, achieve things never thought possible to bring this town of ours out of the doldrums and put pride back in our town. Thank you all and good luck.”
The mayor’s charities for the year were also announced and include Evesham Shopmobility, the Garage Arts Group and Working World.
Evesham also has a new deputy Mayor - Sarah Schaathun. We look forward to seeing what they achieve over the next year.

First meeting of She Workx:
Networking for female-led businesses
June saw the inaugural meeting of the new Evesham ladies' networking group She Workz. Run by Vicki Baker & Evesham Noticeboard's very own Katie Gilbert, the group brought together female business owners from all across Evesham, over lunch at Hampton Ferry. The group spent time getting to know each other, learning about each other's businesses, and discussing the challenges that they are facing in a friendly and supportive judgment-free environment. The first group was a big success and further dates have been added to the calendar. The group is open to female business owners from Evesham and the surrounding areas - check out the dedicated Facebook group for more information including dates, times and venues..
