Love Evesham

Love Evesham

What a fantastic night on Saturday with Katie Gilbert’s first Love Evesham Awards, the first-ever community & business awards evening in Evesham.

I was so surprised to be nominated & went along to support Katie’s work as I love her vision for Evesham.

It was a wonderful evening: I had no idea there were so many inspiring people doing such wonderful things for Evesham’s community, it was uplifting to be sharing space with them.

It was also a lot of fun & really joyful – congrats Katie on such a fab night!

I was completely stunned to discover I’d won the Female Owned Business Category! I literally did not see that coming!

I am humbled & so grateful – thank you to anyone who voted for me, it really means a lot. And congratulations to the other winners.

The next day our 6 year anniversary since arriving in Evesham popped up on Facebook. What a lot has changed in these 6 years!

It’s not easy running a business – ask any entrepreneur!

Being a single mum’s a tough gig too!

So it’s not always been easy.

But it has been worth it!

In the early days the kids were so young they’d sit outside the studio on the iPad waiting for me. They sacrifice 3 evenings a week when I’m teaching & we somehow manage to get them where they need to be to support their own passions & activities. I just hope is that I can inspire them to live their dreams.

Over the past 3 years I have had the joy of supporting women predominantly on their menopause journey with yoga classes, workshops & the quarterly menopause meet-ups women’s circle. I call on my own experiences, supported with professional training & I collaborate with Harley St at Home as online community for women going through this life changing transition.

I also work with local businesses & organisations with yoga classes & workshops to support their wellbeing initiatives. I work 1-2-1 with women, men & kids & run Chakra Cleanse Retreats.

I love what I do & I am very grateful that I can support my family, which, I’m not gonna lie, hasn’t always been easy on a yoga teacher’s salaryI support my income with a 2nd job & I am blessed to see my business growing year on year.

I love supporting people with a whole host of different practices including: yoga, mindfulness & meditation, breath techniques, journaling, processing & reframing practices, energy management & clearing, compassion & gratitude. I am grateful to make a difference as I observe their own journey of healing & growth when we work together.

I appreciate each & every one of my clients who have supported me over the years.

There have been moments of doubt & moments of ‘I should get a proper job.’ But I didn’t give up: it’s as much about patience, persistence & perseverance as it is about trust, faith & belief.

The journey I’ve been on in my business has supported my own personal journey. I have a developed a trust in the process, the Universe & most importantly in myself.

I don’t believe in failing – everything happens for a reason, it’s all an opportunity to learn & grow. I’ve hosted events for 2-3 people or no-one’s turned up – sometimes something just doesn’t work. Sometimes it takes several attempts before you crack the formula & then, as in life, it all changes – so it’s never boring!

I have always wanted to support the community with a wellbeing hub, a retreat on your street. An opportunity for people to discover different holistic practices & practitioners, just as you would on retreat but it’s right there on your street. I am delighted that Mark from Oat St Unitarian Chapel saw my vision & that we are collaborating to bring Evesham’s first Retreat on Your Street in Sept.
