I’m Michael Adams & I’m an experienced agility trainer of Mike Adams Dog Agility. I offer agility classes for all levels (from ‘just for fun’ to competition standard), at our excellent outdoor facilities at Broadview Farm, nr Norton.
Autumn/Winter months we have access to a floodlit menage, while Spring/Summer months we have an option to work on grass as well.
All classes are limited strictly to a max of 6 handlers/dogs. This enables me to offer a structured, fun class which helps to develop a happy partnership between you and your dog.
All training is carried out with your dog’s health & safety paramount using positive reward-based methods.
Most breeds of dogs can take part in agility but they must be a minimum of 12 months old. There is a progressive introduction to the equipment to allow for growing joints etc and for confidence to be built with the different obstacles involved.
Personally
I have been competing in dog agility for 14 years and teaching for 7 years. I currently run 2 of my own dogs competitively, a 7 year old Golden Retriever & a 3 year old Border Collie.
I reached Kennel Club Grade 7 (top grade) with one of my older collies in 2019 and this September my 3 year old collie won the Naylor Agility Challenge Final held at the Malvern Autumn Show (over 600 dogs competed to qualify for the final in heats run throughout the UK). I enjoy the challenge of running the two completely different breeds and get a lot of satisfaction and pleasure teaching the sport I love.
